Park City, UT

We spent the first part of October in Park City.  It was awesome!  Easy fast drive from our house and everything! We arrived Sunday afternoon, the kids had their own wing of the condo and were extremely excited! I didn't take as many pictures as I thought I did, but we had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our time with Dad and Sue in Park City!

We visited Olympic Park which was an absolute blast.  It is home to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, has the fastest bobsled track in the world and also the highest altitude Nordic Ski Jumps in the world.  It is a very impressive place.  LOTS of fun!

Seeing the worlds fastest bobsled track!

Now this my friends, was incredible.  These are ski jumps that allow the skiers to land in water for practice.  Since the week we were there was also media week and the entire 2014 US Olympic Ski Team was there practicing, we got to see some once in a lifetime events unfold in front of us!
The weather was amazing, the entertainment was one of a kid, and the company was the best!  Cannot go wrong!
Wow!!!
Checking out the luge!
Meanwhile, later on that evening, we had s'mores at the condo!
There is no wrong way!  Some like them slowly roasted, others like them quickly charbroiled!
Future US Bobsled Team, year 2020!
Park City has so much to do, and its all geared towards families!  Love it!  The resort had a fun slide and roller coaster and zip line which the kids all loved! We all loved it! The kids even drug Grandpa on the roller coaster twice!
This picture was taken up the street from our condo in Deer Valley!  Amazing views up there!
The next day, it started to snow.  What a change and what fun!
We headed back over to Olympic Park to watch the skiers practice the Nordic Jump.   This was insane.  I mean, insane!  It is so high and they jump so far! It was mind boggling to see in person.  We felt extremely lucky to be able to see this up so close and personal.
While we were there watching the team practice, we met Billy Demong.  Literally the best Nordic Skier in the world.  Seriously.  He talked to the kids, was super sweet.  Tanner said "Wow, you jumped so far!" Billy replied, "Heck yea I did, I flew a football field and a half!" Wow-that is super far! And crazy scary!  How do they do that? I have since then, printed this picture out and mailed it to the Olympic Park Training center in hope Billy will sign it and send it back!
Watching it snow one morning! Such a tender moment.

When we come back during ski season-you can walk to the ski lift from the condo.  Fantastic!
No vacation is ever complete without a bubble bath in a huge tub!  Happy Travels!

Field Trips

All three kids had field trips this week.  It was very exciting!  Tanner went to Meridian High School for the FFA Agricultural Expo.  It was extremely cool, I especially learned a ton of stuff and Tanner really loved his first school bus ride!

Once we arrived at MHS, the expo was run and lead by all the high school FFA kids.  It was very impressive.  Not an adult in sight and the kids were extremely well spoken and organized and knowledgeable.  It was awesome!
The first graders went from one exhibit to the next learning al about Idaho's agriculture.
That is a sugar beet! Pretty cool considering I had only seen a sugar cane!

Touching taxidermy
camping!
Cattle.  The quote of the day came from Tanner when he told the FFA cattle guy that "his dad can take that cow and turn it into food". Yep buddy, your dad can totally do that!
Mrs. Monson's class! This is actually Mrs. Jensen, the substitute.  Mrs. Monson wasn't able to make it on the field trip but as she was seeing the kids off to the bus made sure to tell them she loved them!  She loved each and every one of them. We are so seriously blessed to have this lady as a teacher.  Seriously blessed.
The next day, Friendship Celebration went to the Boise Water Shed.  Carter, Hadley, Cooper, and Skylar had a blast!
The kids all got binoculars and we went on a nature hike down to the river where we all learned about birds and fish and water!

An eventful few days to say the least!

First Day of Preschool!

First Day of Preschool!  The very first day for Hadley, Carter is a "3rd year" this year! So much fun!  Love our preschool! We got up early this morning to get ready.  We are still getting used to the school schedule after a very relaxing summer!

Hadley picked her own outfit out this morning! Hadley is the third Compton kid to have Ms. Dockweiler and she was very excited!  So was Ms. Dockweiler!

Carter was also very excited to get started this morning too! He has Ms. Sale along with his friends Cooper Paulin and Skylar Hansen! Quite the gang they've got!

 The big preschoolers!

All 3 kids in school! Crazy to even believe this is happening! I did shed some tears but I am really looking forward to my Tuesday and Thursday mornings!
Tanner lost his second top tooth and sort of looks like a little vampire! Today was Orange day in Mrs. Monson's first grade class!

I did cry this morning as I was backing out of the driveway and looked in the rear view mirror and caught a glimpse of all three of them.  Three kids with three back packs, going to school. Crazy.  Seems like yesterday they were babies......
At preschool!  I could tell they both had a few butterflies in their stomachs!

 Preschool Rocks!!
 Hadley found her cubby!

And sat right down to do a puzzle!

Carter went to his classroom and sat down and started to paint!
Yes, it was a good hour! Now, we are all ready for Thursday to start the full 2 1/2 hour preschool time! I know I'm ready!
