Birthday Extravaganza

We celebrated all the kids birthdays on Saturday. Because they are so close together, it's easier and more fun to combine their parties! We had a blast!
My friend Adrienne makes spectacular cakes and so I had her make a cake for each of the kids. She made Lightening McQueen's for the boys and a Princess cake for Hadley. They turned out great and tasted good too! Thanks so much Adrienne! You are the best!

Preschool Summer Camp

Preschool Summer Camp started on Monday and ended today. It was a blast! The kids had a great time and came home with all sorts of crafts and things they had been working on during the week. Camp was from 9 AM to noon this week. I tried to pack in as many adventures as I could in those 3 hours! On Tuesday Lisa took the boys home from camp and so I had the whole day with just Hadley. Easy Street!! Although, I was able to get a ton of stuff done and the house stayed very very clean, it was a little too quiet and I am so happy to have the brothers back home!
First day of camp with the Compton Brothers! This place will never be the same! I'm not really sure what the deal with all the muscle flexing was this day, but it was Carters birthday and so.......they wanted to flex! We squeaked into preschool camp right under the gun with Carter-you had to be 3 and potty trained and he turned 3 the first day of camp and as for the potty thing-he's got the pee pee down pat and as long as I stay on him with the poo poo, he's golden! I was a bit nervous about all that but he did great! No accidents and all the kids reported that he told the teacher when he had to go potty! Hooray!
This was kind of my first experience with preschool camp too! Tanner couldn't go the summer before he started preschool because he wasn't 3 yet (or potty trained for that matter) and then last year Lisa picked up Tanner and brought him home for me because I had just had Hadley and was totally inept, there was no way I was going to be able to get out of the house by 9 AM, let alone look presentable or act coherent!

Carter Turns 3!

Carter turned 3 on June 20. He kicked off his 3rd birthday with his first day of preschool summer camp. I was so nervous that he would cry and not want to go because he seems to need to be with me all the time. We got there and he and Tanner and Chelsea and Makayla all just ran off and started playing! It was GREAT! Why did I worry? He's a big 3 year old now!
He got to chose what we had for dinner that night and he chose hot dogs, chips and carrots with dip. So, that is what we ate! It was delicious!
Yummy birthday hot dog!

The big 3 year old! I can't believe it has been 3 years since you were born Carter! You are such a fun and loving boy who never ceases to amaze us! We love you so much!

Happy First Birthday Hadley!

Hadley turned 1 today! All the kids have birthdays very close together but I think it's important that we take the time to celebrate each of them individually as well as have a party for all 3 of them! So, we celebrated just Hadley tonight and it was fun! We had tacos, ate on the patio and even put a candle on the cake for her (or Tanner) to blow out! She didn't understand anything that was going on, but I'm positive she had a great time!

Her Caterpillar cake with one pink candle on it!

Eating her cake, she LOVED the cake!

Happy first birthday baby girl! We love you so much! I can't believe one year ago today we met you face to face for the first time ! You are such a happy and wonderful little girl and we can't imagine our lives without you! You have brightened our lives and definitely made our family complete!

Hooray for Great Neighbors!

When we moved, we knew the house we were moving in to like the backs of our hands, but we had no idea who we would be living around. It's kind of a scary thing and it can easily go one way or the other. We got so lucky! Our street is filled with little boys and girls all around the same age as our 3 kids. Even better, I love their Mommy's so our play dates are wonderful! Today we celebrated Nathans 2nd birthday! It was great!

What the?

See the yellow Skittle he is holding up?

I just pulled it out of his nose. See the tinge of green around his nostril? That's left over from the other Skittle he pushed up his nose before he pushed the yellow one up there. Yes, I did question the intelligence level that I was working with. This is why I asked him why he pushed the Skittles up his nose. The answer? "Because I had buggers coming out and couldn't find the nose spray." That makes sense, right? I have been using saline nasal spray on him when he has a runny nose. I suppose that if you are weeks away from being 3 years old, you might also think that fun brightly colored Skittles would have bugger solving problem powers just as the spray does! Yes, he did have 2 Skittles up his nose at the same time. Yes, I was worried I would need to take him to urgent care to have them removed. Luckily, yesterday I learned that (for lack of a better term) I am indeed a Bad Ass. Yes. A total and complete Bad Ass. So, I calmly removed both Skittles from his nostril. No tears were shed and both Skittles were immediately eaten by him after the little procedure. Another day and another lesson-don't put Skittles up your nose, or if you do call me and I can pull them out so you can eat them.

My 3 Favorite Kids!

Starting next Thursday through July 1, we will have a 1 year old, a 3 year old and a 5 year old! It's amazing how fast time goes. I took their birthday pictures this morning because the shirts I got for them were too much fun and I had to let them wear them! Here are a few of the birthday pictures! I'm surprised at how everyone looks calm and happy in the pictures! I think we all took turns screaming this morning (Good job taking turns, right?) and I might have (allegedly) possibly screamed on the way over to the picture site for a very important reason I'm sure. Somehow Skittles and Diet Mountain Dew make everything better-Skittle for the kids and DMD for me!

Happy First Birthday Hadley! She will turn 1 on June 9. You are a joy in our world. God has put you in my life to show me lots of different things, miracles, love, gifts, fun and laughter to name a few! We love you so much Hadley-Roo!

Happy Third Birthday Carter! Carter will turn 3 on June 20. Carter you are such an extraordinary kid and we are so happy to have you as ours! You are loving, smart, funny and happy! You also keep me on my toes at all times! The conversations we have with you on a daily basis never cease to amaze us. We love you so much!

Happy Fifth Birthday Tanner! Tanner will turn 5 on July 1. Tanner you are a very loving and sweet boy! You are so smart and inquisitive. You care about everyone around you and you have taught me how to do the same! We love you so much!

The clan, the tribe, the gang, the kids! We can't wait to celebrate these milestone birthdays with you! You are the best in the world and Mommy and Daddy are so lucky to have each of you as ours!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very fun and eventful Memorial Day Weekend! I didn't snap very many pictures and I am a bit disappointed in myself for that! We headed up to Cascade to hang out at Grandma and Grandpa's very fun cabin with them for a night! We all had a ball, it was chilly and super fun! Sunday we went to church to watch Mom and Cam become members at Covenant which was very nice. After that we had a fun BBQ at the house! Monday was a a bonus day off for Tyler so it was super great to have him to ourselves for an extra day!

Last Day of Preschool!

Today was Tanner's last day of preschool for the year. They had a party and a BBQ and it was lots of fun! We had all kinds of weather in the couple of hours we were there too! It was freezing and windy, then it was raining, then it was sunny and nice!

We love our preschool!! Tanner will be there again next year and Carter will start his first year as well! So, there were no bittersweet goodbyes this year, only total excitement that summer vacation has begun! On the way home Tanner asked me if Daddy's work took a summer vacation. I'm pretty sure that summer vacations are frowned upon at Daddy's work but I think we should ask, just to make sure!
