Tanner's Special Day

This week Tanner is in charge of snacks, which is a BIG deal! He also got to have his special day today, which means that the class celebrated his birthday with him.  Since he has a summer birthday, this makes it pretty exciting!

He requested cupcakes, chocolate milk & goody bags for his friends!
Hadley came to join in on the festivities too!

Date night!

Saturday night we went out with our very fun neighbors, Jock and Julie.  We had a blast!  We went to Kahootz for some very fabulous food, a fun atmosphere & great conversation!

The Museum Comes Alive

On Saturday the Boise Museum came to life!  It was so much fun! The kids got to see so many great things!

The kids in front of an old tractor.

This ambulance was made in 1970 and was actually still in operation until 1989!

 Dancing!

An old cannon moments before we watched them fire it off.

Tanner checking out the fireplace in the old log cabin.

Everything in this old log cabin is original to the house. It was so much fun to see all the history.

 The boys learning Morse code.

 The brothers playing games.

Checking out some cool army "rides"
 An army Jeep.

The brothers in front of a big gun!

 Panning for gold.

 Carter testing out a saddle.

Hadley tried out the saddle too!

The Fire Truck Comes To Preschool!

It is always just thrilling when the Fire Department comes to preschool! The kids love to hear what they have to say and see them in their uniforms!

The fire fighters talking to the kids.

Tanner raising his hand to ask a question.  The question was more of a statement about how his Daddy lights off fireworks and uses matches and lighters.  Carter then chimed in and said that his Dad has a lot of tools and a big ladder.  Very impressive.

 The kids seeing the truck!

Tanner and Carter watching while the lights flashed and the siren roared!

Getting to touch the fire truck.

A Science Experiment

The kids and I made butter.  It was fun to see how we can turn a liquid into a solid! There was lots of excitement and it tasted really good too!

Tanner all ready with the carton of whipping cream and the mixer.

Pouring the whipping cream into the mixer.

Watching it mix up.....for a really looong time!

 It started to get whipped.

Everyone loving the adventure of butter making.  Especially Carter with his muscles.  He even took his shirt off so we could see his muscles better!

We're getting butter!  I took it out and let it drain before mixing it up just a little bit more.

We added salt to the butter and mixed.

Our butter!

On a side note, my car is in the shop getting fixed and so we were without wheels.  I had to go to Precepts earlier in the day and so my Grandma came to pick us up with her dog, Lily, AKA "Widdle Wiwy.  The kids were elated! I loaded the car seats in her car and they climbed on in! They didn't know we were just going to church.  Carter exclaimed "Grandma's car is so cozy! Is she going to watch us today? I want her to take us to Just Kiddin Around"! It was hilarious.  They were a bit disappointed when we got dropped off!
