My Grandma's Creation!

This is Carter's bathroom. I know.....not very fitting for a little boy, but he will soon be moving upstairs where there is a bathroom for Tanner and Carter that is more geared for boys! Then, I can officially turn this one into the guest bathroom!
Every time I went over to my Grandma's house, I could not stop thinking about the gorgeous balloon shade and curtain panels she had made for her guest bathroom. They looked amazing. I had to have one in my house too! I would need some help so I made sure to get my mom on board with this little project and we were off! My mom, by the way, has a balloon shade in one of her bathrooms as well! I picked out the fabric and fringe at our favorite fabric store, Home Fabrics. I then invited my mom over for dinner one night in hopes that she would stay and help me sew the panels. She came for dinner, and she helped me sew the panels. The only problem was that we were using the thread I had received in the old sewing machine table from my grandma which was probably 30 years old, as well as a bunch of dull needles! It was hilarious and quite the debacle! By this time, it was nearly midnight and my mom needed to go home to bed-as did I! Darn it! I really thought we could just get this all done that night. I am crazy!
Have you ever tried to sew with a 2 1/2 year old and a baby? It is interesting to say the least. I don't have an official sewing room and so my dining room table becomes my sewing area. I only have a 2 hour nap time to get everything out and get going before I have to put it all away. Most of the time, that is no where near enough time! The middle of the night, as crazy as it sounds, is actually the most convenient time to get anything done.
Luckily, my mom and my Grandma saved the day! They swung by one day and picked up my material and made the stuff for me! It's so fun! I can't walk by the bathroom without smiling!

Thanks Mom and Grandma!
Tonight is Taco Thursday! Yummy!
